Project description:
The project is based on the strategic determination of Kastav as a "creative city", a city where creative activities play a significant role in creating new value and jobs. Kastav is a city that produces cultural and creative products, and therefore the goal is to build an infrastructure for cultural and creative industries that will encourage just such activities while using the cultural and historical heritage for economic activities. Kastav is a city that develops cultural tourism, organizes important events and focuses on the sector that includes hotels and restaurants.
The competence center for the research of Chakavian culture consists of three main components/units:
- infrastructure for the future research center of Chakavian culture and cultural-historical heritage and incubator of cultural and creative activities - about 50% of the total area
- spaces for public facilities intended for the citizens of the city of Kastava - about 30% of the total area
- spaces for commercial facilities (retail space, catering, small hotel/hostel with about 30 rooms and public garage) - about 20% of the total area
