Primorje-Gorski Kotar County is a regional self-government unit organized on the territory of Primorje-Gorski Kotar in the western part of the Republic of Croatia.
As a region, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County is located at the crossroads of Central European and Adriatic-Mediterranean routes with the shortest sea connections to the final destinations. The advantages of this region are: geographical location, natural resources and diversity, developed transport and logistics infrastructure, talented, open and educated people and willingness to accept new challenges.
The administrative seat of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County is the City of Rijeka, the largest Croatian and one of the most important European and Mediterranean ports with port capacity development projects, transport infrastructure development projects, tourism, housing construction, as well as other projects that make Rijeka a recognizable Mediterranean city.
Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the City of Rijeka base their history on a centuries-old tradition in industrial production, shipbuilding, production of oil derivatives, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and other products, wood processing industry, tourism and the service sector and the application of new technologies, in cooperation with the university community.
