Renewable energy sources are a very important component of the development of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and are contained in all its strategic documents. The goal is to achieve a high share of renewable energy sources as part of sustainable county development. A high level of the potential of using wind for energy is located in the interior of the county area for exploitation based on the conducted research and the favorable northeast and southeast winds that are typical for the interior of the coast, while the southwest wind is suitable for the Kvarner Bay.
The construction of wind farms is planned at the planned locations.

The main purpose of the building is the production of wind electricity. The construction of a wind farm as an environmentally friendly and available source of energy would contribute to increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the Republic of Croatia, which is one of the priorities of the EU 2020 Strategy.
The implementation of the project, in addition to the construction of the energy conversion plant, also includes the construction of individual plants that are connected to the production of electricity from wind energy, such as one or more wind turbines with associated transformer stations and electrical lines, as well as control and other buildings/objects that serve to operate the wind farm . The maximum permitted height of auxiliary buildings is 10 m, with the permitted number of floors P+1.
The development of the wind power plant construction project is permitted in an area of ​​30 km², with the maximum permitted power of the Ruševo Krmpotsko wind power plant being 90 MW, and the power limit of one wind turbine being 3 MW.
