The Cernik K1 business zone is located next to the Čavle interchange, which connects the Kukuljanovo and Bakar industrial zones with the Rijeka-Zagreb highway. The zone is intended for business purposes, within which activities that include smaller production, storage, service, trade or communal service facilities are allowed. The zone is bounded on the west side by the Rijeka-Zagreb highway, on the north side by the Čavle junction, and on the east side by a section of the state highway D 40. The surrounding area is partially built, in the northern part of the zone there are halls of the companies Metro, MAN and Auto Hrvatska. The interest in the business zone K1 is especially expressed due to its traffic location, which is why the development potential of the zone should be seen within the wider environment of the Rijeka ring, and not exclusively within the administrative area of the Municipality of Čavle.
