The construction of this section of the highway will enable a more active development of tourist capacities in the Crikvenica-Vinodol area, as well as better quality and traffic connections with Senja, Rab and Dalmatia.

The technical elements of the route are provided for the design speed vp=120 km/h and the toll collection system. A four-lane traffic profile is planned with two traffic lanes and one stop lane for each direction separated by a dividing strip.
